Ok usually its the best available Player gets drafted in the 1st round in Drafts but in the MLB Draft who ever has Scott Boras as his rep or had a bad work out/combine Chances are that player will slip down to the mid/end of the 1st or the Supplmentle Round/2nd round unless the Yankees, Red Sox or Mets had control of any of the top ten picks in the 1st round! Lets take a Look at some players who sliped in the draft! in the 2005 Draft Craig Hansen a Projected Top 10 pick and aslo Project to be the "Next" great Closer Viva Houston Street, Fell to the 26th overall Pick to the Redsox! the Reason he Fell teams did not wont to face Scott Boras and his demands for a huge player contract. Redsox Gave Craig a 4year 4 mill deal. the Redsox later rushed him to the majors in the same year where he was drafted! Where is Craig hansen now? he is fighting for a job in the pirates AAA team! then we take a look at the 06 darft! there were 2 Tar Heel Starters Andrew Miller and Daniel Bard! Miller Drafted 6th to the tigers even tho his agent was Boras! and Bard who had one of the best arms in that draft and projected to be a top 10-15 pick fell to the 28th slot to the redsox! who was better? Daniel Bard! he is now the sox top Set Up man and possible replacement for Paplebon if the sox fail to resign jonathan! as for Miller hes in the Marlins AAA team working out some bugs but dont rule him out as a bust just yet! Dont Get me wrong there are slips in Sports Darfts but after the 1st 2nd & 3rd Rounds theres a Drop off in most Drafts but in the Baseball Draft there is chance that your team could get Pretty good player out of the 50 rounds!
here are some names were drafted in the late rounds of the Mlb Draft!
Albert pujols was Drafted in the 13th round of the 1999 Draft (Right now is the best player in the majors)
John Smoltz was Drafted in 22nd round of the 1985 MLB Draft! (a Great Closer and Starter with the braves)
Mark Buehrle was Drafted in the 38th round of the 1998 draft (pitched a NO hitter and a Perfect game)
Mike Piazza was Drafted in the 62nd round of the 1988 draft (one of the Best Power Hitting Catchers in his prime)
Bryce Haper: the next big thing?
This years Projected #1 goes to washington! and the Player who is hands down #1 overall is Bryce Harper and oh yeah his agent is the Mighty Scott Boras! Bryce is not just another #1 hitting Prospect. Like Strasburg, Bryce projected to be the "Lebron James" of Baseball! Yeah I know Crazy but i guess if your a HS Senior/junior Collage Player hitting 502ft Bombs then i Guess your the next "Lebron James". Please!!! 502ft means nothing! Bryce Could be the best Power Hitting Prospect since ken griffey jr but being named the next Lebron James is Crazy! as for the Nats and his Agent this means another Holdout untill boras gets his man some Big Bank.
